"Beautiful Eyes" ~ Donna Salazar & Dimensional Border Tutorial

Howdy I am back again this time with another layout of my gorgeous girl! I miss her so much since she moved to Brisbane. She is growing up into a beautiful young lady! I can't believe she will be 20 next month!

I have a tutorial below on how to create this textured frame.

This flower was created using Botanique papers and the Grand Peony Creations

 Dimensional Border Tutorial
It is pretty easy to create this dimensional border. All you need is a peace of patterned paper. Using your craft knife and cut a cross though the middle of the paper. Only cut up to a couple of inches in form the corners. If you have a pattern on the corners like this paper, blade around the pattern so it stays flat.

Next spray water all over the paper, make it wet enough so that it is easy enough to manipulate.
Then starting at the center of the paper, concertina, crumple and fold the paper back onto itself.
Once you are happy with the folded borders use your craft knife to poke a hole into the center of the border and hold it together with a brad. Then Wallah a quick and easy dimensional border!

Walking with Catitude * Donna Salazar Designs* & Video Tutorial on Background Stamping

OK, I think I am getting over my week, having a day just creating yesterday helped a lot! Will share more of that when I photograph the projects. It has been a nice change of pace for the weekend. I am feeling a lot better now! Thank you everyone for your beautiful words of advice and support! Really does mean a lot! So Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

On some other news I have just announced I will be having my first weekend workshop in Mackay on the 16th & 17th of March. I have just put a call out for expressions of interest, also if any one knows of any good venue's I should look into I would really appreciate it!

I am re-posting this project that was recently published in Scrapbook Creations Magazine

No.97

Welcome back, Today I have another video tutorial on creating your own background with Donna Salazar's stamps & Mix'd Media Inx & Smooch Sptitz. I have also used the Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms  on this layout! They are so gorgeous and perfect for creating flowers to suit any project.

To give your bling butterflies more movement stick them to a piece of acetate, then cut it out and glue the center of the butterfly down with the wings slightly bent up.
After cutting the leaves from the bitty blossoms, ink with Mossy Mix'd Media Inks then mist with water and crumple up to give the leaves more texture.

Here is the Video Tutorial on creating the patchwork stamped background!

Family ~ Donna Salazar Designs ~ DT Swap

Hellooooo, How is everyone today?? I am back again with another DT Swap layout, this month I had to do Lisa's photo. What a gorgeous family! I hope you like it Lisa!

I got to play with Donna's new corrugated swirls and Swirls Stamp on this layout!
I have also used another one of Mistra's Wild Rose Flowers (Blue one) on this layout!
The orange flower here was created with paper towel and mix media stax. You can see the tutorial for this flower HERE!

Creating the Background:
The background swirls were created with the Swirls stamp. Start with white cardstock stamp the swirls with the jasmin mix'd media inx, overlapping in a diagonal pattern. emboss with clear embossing powder. Then using the denim and patina mix'd media inx refills I added a line of ink to the top and bottom of the page. Heavily spritz these with water to created the drips up and down the page. I did one end first then the other. Keep spritzing with water until you are happy with the result. I then cut a border off about an inch in from the edge. Cutting around the swirls so they go over the edge. Then distress the edges. Once the photo and embellishments have been added I added some liquid pearl dots over the swirls.

The orange background is from an example I used with the rock salt technique I did on a video tutorial I did awhile ago HERE.

I love Donna's currugated Swirls from want2scrap they are so funky. I have inked over the corrugated swirls with the jasmin inx then spritzed with water to soften the look.

I have also used an orange water colour pencil to change the colour of a couple of the paper pieces. The bow on the dress form was pink and the stripes on the family tag were pink. I coloured over them with the water colour pencil then blended with a water pen.

Posers ~ Donna Salazar & Dusty Attic

Hi I am back again, today I am sharing this layout that I created at the Hyden Retreat in WA.
I think I was channeling my friend Debbie in the picture here as this layout reminds me of her style too. We had a table challenge at the retreat to use the dusty decorative frame #1.
I was also spoilt by Mistra who gave me a bunch of her ready made Donna Salazar Flowers made from the rose creation die! They are just sooo yummy, she is such a clever chickie!
The Sprightly Sprockets white coordinates fit perfectly over the decorative frame. I have also used the Family Portrait - Botanique paper here.
The circle design was created with an Orchid (The Crafters Workshop) Template. The center was inked with the Black Mix'd Media Inx. The blue Sea Kiss Smooch Spritz was wiped on with a baby wipe then I have used a card to wipe a thin layer of modelling paste over this to soften the whole effect. The blue dots around the border were created by sewing french knots on each dot.

Friends ~ Donna Salazar ~( 3 Tutorials in 1)

Hi again, good to see you back here! Against all odds I have this post ready for you today. And I mean all odds, it has been a long road to get this post happening. My new computer of 12 months crashed, so I got my old computer reformatted to use and it too crashed yesterday, it kept freezing and was super slow and  playing up which reminded me why I upgraded in the first place. Anyway it has been a trial as I am now using the laptop. But it hasn't been easy as the programs and printer are hooked up to the desktop. It's always the way when you have a heavy workload with umpteen deadlines looming! But I made it! Maybe with a few extra grey hairs but I am here! Phew! OK Back to normal programing, I am back with another Donna Salazar Design for you today with 3 tutorials for the price of one.

This layout is on a group of Leonii's childhood friends from primary school. Its great that they keep in contact and and catch up when they can, even though they have left school.

Lots of yummy Donna products on this layout. Here is a tutorial on how I created the background:

I have used the Kaisercraft TigerLily Butterflies and the Want2Scrap Butterfly Bling to create these cute little butterflies. Here is the Tutorial on how I created these:

Last but not least here is a tutorial on making Paper Towel Flowers. I love the colours you can get when you clean up your spray ink with a paper towel. The best part is that you always have flowers that match your project perfectly.

The Chipboard flourishes were inked with the black MMI and embossed with the Black & Indigo Embossing powders.
