CSI #3 - Beautiful Young Lady

I love a good colour challenge, if you don't know how to aproach putting different colours
together try using the decorators rule for 60, 40, 10.
60% of the main colour/s, 40% of your feature colour/s and 10% of your accent colour/s.
I have used 60% of the grey colours, 40% of the cream and tea brown and 10% of the pink and purple. It makes it easier to approach when you decide what percentage of the colours you are going to use.  I hope that helps some of those who are scared to play with different colours.

Here is my take on this weeks colour palette!

I was lucky to get this one done, I was on holidays and didn't take any scrap supplies with me at all! But it got the better of me, I had to go and find a scrap shop so I could create this layout. I had a great excuse my beautiful neice Amaya who is in this photo wanted to learn how to Scrap, so who am I to disappoint! We had fun scrapping together! Amaya is definitely creatively talented too!

The leaves the to bottom right of the layout were created by using the inked DA leaves as a stamp to stamp off the excess ink.

CSI #1 - Colour, Stories, Inspiration & Dusty

There's a new colour challenge site in town and it's pretty cool!  It's CSI - Colour, Stories, Inspiration - and the whole idea is fabulous!  There is the "Scene" which is the colour palette... with 5 colours!  Then there is "Evidence" which are a list of items to include on your layout and finally the "Testimony" which is the journaling base/ideas to go with it all!!

This is the Scene for Case Study #1

Now what's better than a new Colour Challenge site... the fact that Dusty Attic is sponsoring them for their first month and there will be a yummy Dusty Prize Pack up for grabs, so go check them out, have a play and join in and you could get Dusty with us!!
JennyB, Mistra & I were this weeks guest designers as well, Here is our interpretation of the colour palette and challenge:

Pop on over to see the rest of the wonderful layouts created by the CSI Team, there is fabulous inspiration to be found!!

Here is a close up of what I created for this challenge:
The first pic of the layout was taken above in natural light, the pic below here was taken in my new light tent! It is awesome, no more waiting for the right light to get the layout photos!!

The required elements I used on this layout were, A Hat Pin , Stamped Numbers on the Background, Repeated stamp on the background, Lacy element and Distressing.
Journaling Hidden: The Dark and Stormy Skies, Looming over Mackay, in its path we wonder if we lie. Rumbling Grumbling sounds all around, the sweet scent of rain can be found!
I created this layout when my friend Debbie K was visiting and we used the same photo with the same Colour palette, it was great to see how different they still turned out! You can see Deb's Layout on this HERE
